Kinder Konzerts...
Kinder Konzerts are about children and music. Held 48 times during the season,
Kinder Konzerts introduce 6,000 four- and five-year old preschoolers to Orchestra Hall
and their first experience with live classical music every year. Trained volunteers
guide the children through a hands-on Sound Factory, a tour of Orchestra Hall and then
on stage for a concert specifically composed for Kinder Konzerts and performed by an
ensemble of Minnesota Orchestra musicians.
Would you like to be a Kinder Konzerts guide? A musical background is not necessary. All training is provided by our friendly Kinder Konzerts associates. As a special thank you, each volunteer who guides six Kinder Konzerts during the school year receives two tickets to a Minnesota Orchestra performance.

The WAMSO KINDER KONZERTS program welcomes you to its 28th season of outstanding musical programming especially for children. The coming season will present The
Brementown Musicians with music by local composer Edie Hill.
Preschool children, ages four and five, will meet eight members of the acclaimed Minnesota Orchestra. The musicians will introduce their instruments and perform an up close and personal concert featuring music written especially for Kinder Konzerts. Children and adults will also enjoy the hands-on experience of playing instruments in the Sound Factory

Concerts are at 9:20 a.m. and 11:05 a.m. Session 1: 9:20 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Session 2: 11:05 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
TEACHER WORKSHOPSTeachers are encouraged to attend a pre-concert curriculum workshop to learn teaching strategies for preparing children for the Kinder Konzerts experience. The cost of the workshop is $15 per person. The workshop offers a wealth of information that you can use in your classroom. Teachers from schools and centers who are not attending Kinder Konzerts this year are welcome to come to one of the workshops. A clock hour certificate for 2.5 hours of professional development will be distributed at the end of the workshop. If you cannot attend the Teacher Workshop but you desire a teacher's guide, please send $5.00 to the WAMSO office to cover mailing and handling costs.
TEACHER WORKSHOP DATES
Saturday, September 17, 2005 and Saturday, January 21, 2006. Workshops will be held at Orchestra Hall. Please indicate which Teacher Workshop you will attend on the application form.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Please fax (612-371-7176) or mail the 2005-2006 Application Form (PDF) to the WAMSO office (1111 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403-2477) by Friday, April 29, 2005. Be sure to complete a SEPARATE application for each group from your school. The cost is $5.00 per person. One adult is admitted free for every 5 children. Payment may be mailed or made on the day of the concert. Limited scholarship funds are available for groups with more than 50% of children on public assistance.
